Music in Physical Education

Music is one of the fun parts of physical education. In my own life, there’s music to get me excited, there music for when I am sad or theres music for all the in-between. Music is a central part of our world. One awesome thing about music is it brings people together and can be a great motivator in a physical education class.

I personally think music is essential in physical education. It keeps your class upbeat and just brings an energy to your classroom that is hard to bring in other classes. I like to stick to music that doesn’t have any inappropriate messages. This is critical for our younger students. I also do not use much Kids Bop! They have done lots of stuff for the physical education world and I love that! I also just try to push myself to find other music that isn’t geared directly for kids.

I have compiled my favorite songs to use in the physical education setting in a Spotify playlist. I think these songs work for all age groups. Check out the playlist below!
